By-election: Local holiday declared at Kuttichira in Keralam

A local holiday has been declared in the Kuttichira division of the Kozhikode Corporation on September 28 in view of the by-election to the division. The holiday will apply to government offices and educational institutions within the Kuttichira division, the District Collector and District Election Officer said in an order.

Heads of government, semi-government and public sector institutions, statutory companies, boards and corporations in the division have been directed to permit employees who are voters to leave their workplaces and exercise their franchise at their respective polling stations.

Employees seeking permission will have to produce documents establishing that they are registered voters in the constituency.
