Calgary resident accused of threatening to kill Prime Minister Mark Carney on YouTube

A Calgary man faces criminal charges after police received information that a YouTube account had posted threats to kill Prime Minister Mark Carney. (Meghan Grant/CBC)Social SharingA Calgary resident has been arrested and charged in connection with allegations they threatened to kill Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Jamie Dacosta, 31, faces one count of uttering threats.

According to RCMP, its National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) received information in July that a YouTube account had posted a death threat against the prime minister.

Dacosta is currently in custody and is set to make a court appearance in Calgary on Tuesday.
