Canadian man posts 'harassment' videos after barbecue clash with Indian landlady

An Indian woman in Canada clashed with her tenant after objecting to him using a barbecue in the garden with a friend on her property. After a video of their altercation went viral, the man shared a series of clips alleging that the incident was part of a larger pattern of harassment by his landlady.

The man, who shared the clips on Instagram on his account Tiwana Farm Survivor, documented several encounters with the woman, presenting them as evidence of what he described as repeated harassment and interference at the property.

The now-viral video, which triggered the man to post other clips, showed a dispute that appeared to have started because the Indian landlady objected to him using the barbecue on her property.

In the video, she was seen pointing towards brown stains on the wall as she said, "I have to protect my property from damage." Furious, the man asked her to leave, saying, "I'm 50 years old. If I want to have friends here and make a dinner, I will. You're the only one disrupting the peace."

The landlady then pointed towards the man's friend, who was recording the video, and said, "You don't have the right to tell me what to do. He's my enemy." This only prompted the conversation to turn into a heated argument.

The man said, "Why are you trying to intimidate us? We are just trying to cook dinner." She then grabbed a slab of wood from the ground and proceeded to push the patties off the grill while saying, "You cannot do this on my property. I'm calling the police right away."

After these videos went viral, the man began posting a series of clips alleging “assault” by the Indian landlady.

In one of the clips, the woman was seen entering the man’s house and throwing rocks in his direction before physically confronting him. The man repeatedly asked her to stop and appeared to try to keep his distance during the altercation.

He was heard saying, "Please leave, get out of my unit." As she proceeded to wrestle him, she grabbed a container from the table and hit his friend, saying, "What is he doing here? Why are you here?"

Other videos shared by the tenant showed what he alleged were further instances of the woman entering the property without notifying him. In one clip, he claimed that she had unlawfully entered the property and changed the locks.

Meanwhile, he also claimed that the rent had already been paid up till August 15 in the caption of one of his posts.

The man later shared another video that appeared to show the entrance to his rental unit without a door. He said the door had been completely removed, leaving him with no way to properly secure the property or his belongings.

The situation also involved other people arriving at the property. In one video recorded by the tenant, several men were seen entering the premises while he confronted them about their presence. He told them that they could not enter a tenant’s home without prior permission and repeatedly said, "Why are you in my unit? This is illegal. Get out of my unit right away."

The latest video, showing the missing door, only drew further attention to the dispute. The man said he had been left with no option to properly secure his unit and belongings, adding to his allegations against the landlady.

"My unit has been broken into for the third time, the door was removed right off. Just recording this for the police for now," he said.

Some users commenting under his latest post claimed that the woman had subsequently been arrested after the man pressed charges against her. However, India Today could not independently verify the authenticity of those claims or establish whether an arrest had taken place.
