A Springbok dressing-room video has sparked debate online after a television camera briefly captured a naked player while teammates were changing during South Africa’s match against Australia.

The footage was broadcast from inside the Springboks’ changing room at Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, where South Africa suffered a 42-38 defeat to the Wallabies.

Australian broadcaster Stan Sport had a camera inside the dressing room while the Springboks gathered during the match.

Several reserve players could be seen changing in the background before one player was briefly captured naked from behind, reported the Cape Argus.

The footage was later shared on X, prompting a mixture of jokes and criticism from rugby fans.

Some users made light of the incident, while another expressed relief that the player had his back to the camera.

Others questioned why cameras were filming inside a changing room while players were getting dressed.

“That exact reason they shouldn’t have cameras in change rooms. It’s ridiculous,” one social media user commented.

Another said: “That’s why cameras shouldn’t be there in the first place. It’s called a changeroom for a reason.”

The footage continued to circulate on Monday, a day after the Springboks’ defeat in Perth.

The Wallabies led 24-17 at half-time before extending their advantage to 42-17.

South Africa scored three converted tries in the closing stages but ran out of time, losing 42-38.

The dressing-room footage subsequently became another talking point following the match.
