Police are searching for a group of offenders who broke into an urban farm in Melbourne's north earlier this month.

The group used a stolen tractor to ram into the front doors of the Bundoora Park Farm's cafe, causing significant damage.

Police are searching for a group of offenders who broke into an urban farm in Melbourne's north before stealing a tractor and causing significant damage.

Investigators say the group arrived at the Bundoora Park Farm on e-bikes at about 12:15am on the morning of Sunday, 20 September, before breaking into several sheds and stealing garden tools.

The group then stole a tractor and used it to ram the front doors doors of the farm's cafe.

Police said they fled the scene when an alarm went off, leaving the tractor's engine running as they left on the bikes. 

The Bundoora Park Farm announced on social media that it was closed at the start of last week due to "significant vandalism". 

"All animals are safe and well," it said.

The council-run urban farm offers educational programs in agriculture and horticulture as well as functions, work experience and animal handling.
