Cebu Pacific and what else? Here are more airlines offering 10kg cabin baggage allowance - GMA Network
Here’s for all the “budgetarian” travelers out there!
Cebu Pacific recently announced it would increase the total hand-carry baggage allowance to 10kg on its 5J flights, beginning September 15.
The hand-carry baggage must have maximum dimensions of 55 × 40 × 20 cm so it can fit in the overhead compartment. Personal items must be no larger than 20 × 35 × 20 cm so they can fit under the seat.
But it's not just the local budget airline that's adjusting its carryon allowance.
Here are other low-cost airlines offering a 10-kg cabin baggage allowance on flights to and from the Philippines.
Not only is Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, allowing passengers a total of 10kg cabin baggage allowance, they can also bring up to two pieces of cabin baggage.
The hand-carry baggage must have maximum dimensions of 54 × 38 × 23cm so it can fit in the overhead compartment. Personal items must be no larger than 40 × 30 × 10cm so they can fit under the seat.
Scoot operates direct flights from Singapore to Manila, Cebu, and Clark, and vice versa. It also offers connecting flights from Singapore to destinations in North Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Jeju Air, a low-cost carrier from South Korea, allows passengers to bring up to two pieces of cabin baggage with a combined weight of 10kg.
The carry-on bag must measure no more than 55 × 40 × 20 cm, while personal items must be no larger than 40 × 30 × 15 cm.
Jeju Air operates direct flights from Manila, Cebu, and Clark to Seoul and vice versa.
Meanwhile, other major airlines flying to and from the Philippines, such as Philippine Airlines and AirAsia, maintain a cabin baggage allowance of two pieces, with the total weight of both items not exceeding 7 kg.
On the other hand, budget carrier Jetstar announced that beginning in February 2027, it will remove its 7-kg carry-on weight limit.
Passengers may instead bring one under-seat bag, such as a backpack, handbag, or laptop bag.
