In the featured prelim Saturday at Crypto.com Arena, Jourdain (18-9-1 MMA, 8-9-1 UFC) called an end to his contest against Marlon Vera after being knocked down midway through Round 3. It was not the first time he was dropped in the bout, but Jourdain experienced something terrifying on the final knockdown from Vera (24-12-1 MMA, 16-11 UFC).

"Lost my eyesight in the third," Jourdain wrote in an Instagram story after the fight. "I waved the fight cause I don’t need to receive more strikes to the head. I lost. I failed."

Jourdain, 30, had only been finished with strikes once prior in his pro MMA career, in a 2024 bout vs. Jean Silva. The defeat snapped a three-fight winning streak.
