Chearavanont family gives condo to AGT winner Nene Royal - Bangkok Post

(Screenshot) Thailand’s second-richest family has given a 98-square-metre luxury condominium to the family of young Thai rocker Nene Royal, who made history on Thursday as the first Thai to win “America’s Got Talent”.

The congratulatory gift, from the Chearavanont family of Charoen Pokphand Group fame, at Mulberry Grove The Forestias Condominiums in Bangkok is estimated to be worth between 25 million and 36 million baht.

The presentation took place on Sept 5, ahead of the trip by Nene and her family to the United States for the AGT final.

Dhanin Chearavanont, senior chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP), announced the gift after the 16-year-old Phuket native won the competition on Thursday.

“The gesture was inspired by the family’s story and their unwavering belief in their daughter’s potential,” the Chearavanont family said in a statement.

“Despite the challenges along the way, her parents and family have remained by her side, supporting and encouraging her with love and determination as she pursued her dreams and reached this important milestone.”

Speaking to Nene’s parents, Narong Amloy and Chuanphit Poolkerd, CP senior chairman Dhanin Chearavanont said Nene’s story could inspire a new generation to “dare to dream, take action, persevere through challenges and believe in their own potential, while never forgetting the value of family and the people who stand by them throughout their journey”.

Mr Dhanin said he hoped the gift would provide more than just a home, but also a space where opportunity could grow, creating a positive impact on society and inspiring other dreamers.

“May it be a home filled with love, warmth and stability — a new beginning for the next chapter of Nene’s journey and a reminder that no matter how far the road ahead may be, with determination, perseverance and a family as the wind beneath her wings, dreams can become reality,” the 87-year-old tycoon said.

The gift was made from one family to another with no obligations attached, the statement said.

Also attending the presentation were other family members Nathawat Ahriyavraromp, Thippaporn Ahriyavraromp and Varnnee Chearavanont Ross.

Mulberry Grove The Forestias Condominiums comprises six buildings, ranging from seven to eight storeys, with a total of 269 residential units across more than 16 rai at the Forestias complex in eastern Bangkok.

The condominium unit presented to Nene’s family features two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a living area of approximately 99 square metres.

The Chearavanont family earlier gave Nene educational funding and supported other related costs in her journey to the competition, reportedly about 10 million baht.
