Chicken cooking row turns deadly as 6-year-old girl dies after parents' fight in UP

A six-year-old girl died after her parents got into a fight following a dispute over cooking chicken in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district. It is suspected that the girl may have died from shock during the altercation, but the exact cause of death is yet to be established and will be clear after the post-mortem examination. According to the information available, 35-year-old Pramod Gautam, who lives in Hatihi village with his wife Lakshmi, their two sons and six-year-old daughter, came home with a chicken while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

A dispute broke out between Pramod and Lakshmi over cooking the chicken. Pramod began assaulting his wife during the argument. Their daughter was also injured during the incident, though the circumstances in which she sustained the injury are not clear.

Family members rushed Mahak to a community health centre, where doctors declared her dead.POLICE BEGIN INVESTIGATION

Police reached the community health centre after receiving information about the incident. The girl's body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination.

Gonda Additional SP Nitesh Singh said there were no apparent injury marks on the girl's body and no bloodstain marks were found at the spot. He said further legal action would be taken after the post-mortem report.

Senior officers and a forensic team also visited the scene as part of the investigation.

Police have detained Pramod for questioning. Further legal action is underway.
