Chief Minister should learn to speak politely, says Nainar

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay should learn to speak politely, at least now that he has assumed office as Chief Minister. For someone who cannot speak politely, what will he do as Chief Minister and no one knows what will happen to Tamil Nadu, said Nainar Nagenthran, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president.

Mr. Nagenthran told the media in Coimbatore on Sunday (September 27, 2026) that law and order situation was deteriorating in the State. Further, with the TVK government scrapping the Parandur airport project, Tamil Nadu would lose 10 years of progress. If the State government had completed land acquisition and got all the approvals, the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP will work to expedite expansion of Coimbatore airport, he added.

The BJP had an alliance with the DMK for the 1999 elections. After that, the DMK had aligned with the Congress. However, the Congress is with the TVK now, in the State. The Chief Minister was the person making contradictory claims, he said.

A new Secretariat was needed. But, the question was if it was needed now. There was no estimate or drawing plan for the new project, he alleged.
