China launches commercial high-resolution imaging satellites

China successfully launched the Zhuzhou Space Interstellar PIESAT-2 13-16 satellites into space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province at 6:50 p.m. Beijing Time on Saturday.

The satellites, carried by a Long March-2D carrier rocket, entered their preset orbits successfully.

The PIESAT-2 satellites are owned by Zhuzhou Space Interstellar Satellite Technology Co., Ltd., a commercial enterprise found in 2022 specializing in the operation of remote sensing constellations. The satellites are mainly used for high-precision imaging.

This mission marked the 668th flight of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
