China welcomes Russian President Vladimir Putin's attendance at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen this November, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said Saturday.
Guo was responding to a question about whether the Chinese and Russian leaders would meet on the sidelines, after Russian media reported that Putin expected the meeting to yield positive results.
"The strategic guidance of head-of-state diplomacy is the most important political guarantee for the steady and sustained development of China-Russia relations," Guo said.
He added that China is ready to work with Russia to deliver fruitful outcomes for the APEC China Year.
