China's largest domestically developed shield tunneling machine has officially rolled off the production line. Named China Railway 1662, it features a 16.68-meter excavation diameter and weighs 4,800 tonnes. Equipped with an atmospheric cutter head and advanced slag removal systems, the machine enables safer and more efficient underwater tunnel construction for upcoming reservoir-crossing projects.
