Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with President of WorldSkills International Francis Hourant and CEO of the WorldSkills International David Hoey on Tuesday in Shanghai, as the 48th WorldSkills Competition got underway.
Noting China has maintained a close and good cooperative relationship with WorldSkills International, Li said that by hosting the 48th WorldSkills Competition, China demonstrates its high regard for skilled talent and its firm support for global skills cooperation.
China is willing to further deepen cooperation with the WorldSkills International to jointly promote the development of global skills, drive the steady growth of the world economy and enhance the well-being of people of all countries, Li added.
Li said China will continue to strengthen the development of skills, continue to provide beneficial experiences and public goods for the global skills cause to benefit more countries, and continue to support the development of WorldSkills International as always.
Hourant and Hoey spoke highly of the vigorous development of China's skills cause as well as its contribution to other countries. They expressed their confidence that China will present an excellent WorldSkills Competition, adding that the WorldSkills International looks forward to strengthening cooperation with China and joining forces in contributing to global peace, stability and prosperity.
