Class 5 student bitten by snake on school premises in Keralam’s Kozhikode

A Class V student was bitten by a snake on the premises of Chalakkara Government Upper Primary School at Thamarassery in Kozhikode, Keralam, on Wednesday (September 23, 2026). The student, Ahiyan Muhammed, was reportedly bitten while he was on the school grounds.

Following the incident, teachers took the 10-year-old boy to the Thamarassery Taluk Hospital, where he was given preliminary treatment. He was later shifted to the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

A member of the Parent-Teacher Association said the student received timely medical care following the prompt intervention of the teachers. He said it was the first such incident reported at the school.
