Class X girl suffers serious injuries after touching live wire at school in Annamayya district

A Class X girl student suffered serious injuries after coming into contact with a live electric wire at the Government Model School at Reddivaripalle in Nimmanapalle mandal of Annamayya district on Saturday evening. The incident came to light on Sunday.

The injured student was identified as Rajitha, 15. Her father, Ravikumar, said the incident occurred when she accidentally touched electric wires running close to a classroom window.

He alleged that although his daughter screamed for help, the principal and teachers failed to shift her to a hospital and were negligent in providing medical assistance.

The girl’s parents and local residents rushed to the school and shifted her to a private hospital in Madanapalle for treatment. Locals demanded an inquiry into electrical safety measures on the school premises and action over the alleged delay in providing medical assistance.

In another incident, tension prevailed at Chandra Colony in Madanapalle town on Sunday morning after human skeletal remains, including a skull and bones, were found on the roadside along the bypass.

Some morning walkers noticed the skeletal remains and alerted the police. Madanapalle Urban police reached the spot and took up an investigation. The remains were secured and sent for forensic examination.
