Commanders sign veteran offensive lineman with 65 career starts - Commanders Wire
The Washington Commanders are finally bringing in some experienced offensive line depth. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday that Washington was signing veteran offensive lineman Lucas Patrick to a one-year deal. Patrick visited the Commanders on Monday.
Patrick, 33, was released by the New York Giants during final cuts last month. He dealt with injuries during training camp.
The 6-foot-3, 313-pound Patrick played college football at Duke and went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft. He signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent and spent his first six seasons there. In 2022, Patrick signed a two-year deal with the Chicago Bears. After two years in Chicago, Patrick signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. He made 10 starts for New Orleans before suffering a season-ending injury.
In 2025, Patrick signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was initially named the starting right guard but was injured and appeared in only six games for the Bengals.
In 10 NFL seasons, Patrick has appeared in 113 games and made 65 starts. He not only gives the Commanders a reliable veteran reserve who can be active every game, but he could also start at any of the three interior positions.
