The competition tribunal has given the green light for Coca-Cola HBC to acquire Coca-Cola Beverages Africa with conditions.
The conditions include restrictions on retrenchments and a commitment to invest in South Africa.
The deal comes amid growing concern over the protection of workers at the company.
It will see Coca-Cola HBC acquire a 75% controlling stake in CCBA, Africaβs largest Coca-Cola bottler.
The transaction is valued at about 2.6 billion US dollars and is expected to be completed by the end of this year, subject to the remaining regulatory requirements.
