CPUT student accused of attempted murder denied bail - EWN

A CPUT student accused of attempted murder has been denied bail.

Katlego Kgaswane appeared at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court today for his final bail application.

He was arrested earlier this month after allegedly sneaking into a female student’s room and stabbing her during the early hours of the morning.

CPUT students and friends of the victim filled the courtroom as they anxiously waited for the outcome of today’s proceedings.

The investigating officer in the case took the stand and objected to the accused being granted bail.

His arguments included the severity of the injuries sustained by the student, as well as the allegation that the accused acted intentionally by going to the room armed with a knife.
