Creator takes Swiggy rider on surprise detour for milkshake at a 5-star hotel

A delivery rider expecting another ordinary day on the job got an unexpected invitation instead: a milkshake at a five-star hotel.

Content creator Zaid Mehdi captured the wholesome encounter in a video shared on Instagram, where he surprised a Swiggy Instamart delivery partner by asking him to join him for a drink at a luxury hotel.

The video began with Zaid approaching the rider and casually asking if he would accompany him to a five-star hotel for some juice. Clearly caught off guard, the rider asks, “Huh? Where?” Mehdi points towards the hotel and repeats the invitation before asking whether he had ever visited one.

The rider admitted that he had not been to a five-star hotel in years. “I haven’t been since childhood until now,” he said.

Zaid then drove to the hotel together. Their arrival did not go entirely unnoticed, with security stopping them at the entrance. But Zaid quickly reassured them, saying, “Yeh mere chacha hai (He’s my uncle).”

Once inside, the rider took in the opulent surroundings. When asked how he found the place, he looked around and called it “very spacious." Sitting down at the restaurant, he gave another approving verdict: “The place is very nice.”

The conversation then took a more personal turn.

Zaid learnt that the delivery partner had previously survived a major accident that left him bedridden. Recalling the incident, the rider explained how a car came and hit him.

The mood lightened again when their milkshakes arrived. After taking a sip, the rider smiled and enjoyed the drink.

As their unusual outing came to an end, Zaid asks if he enjoyed the day. The rider responded with an enthusiastic “Yes!”, before Mehdi thanked him for joining.

The video struck a chord with social media users, who appreciated the gesture and the warmth between the two strangers. One viewer called it a “wholesome gesture”, while another said the clip had genuinely made them smile.
