Former Knysna Mayor Thando Matika, acting Municipal Manager Boy Ngubo, and acting Chief Financial Officer Busisiwe Lubelwana were arrested by the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT).
The three face allegations linked to kickbacks in a municipal security contract and are expected to appear in court on Monday.
The arrests came as the municipality continued to grapple with political instability and service delivery challenges.
The DA said the arrests vindicated investigations it had conducted over the past three years into alleged corruption and maladministration at the municipality.
