DC instructs officers to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of examinations for Land Surveyors and VAO

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandve on Tuesday instructed officials to ensure that the upcoming competitive examinations for direct recruitment of Land Surveyors and Village Administrative Officers (VAO) are conducted smoothly and transparently.
Chairing a preparatory meeting here, Mr. Pandve urged the officials to adhere strictly to the guidelines issued by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
The examination for Land Surveyor posts is scheduled for October 2, while the VAO recruitment test will take place on October 4.
The Deputy Commissioner directed authorities to maintain strict punctuality as the tests will be held in two sessions (morning and afternoon). In Yadgir district, 2,259 candidates will appear for the Land Surveyor examination across five centers, while 9,104 candidates will write the VAO examination across 25 centers.
Prohibitory orders under Section 144 will be enforced within a 200-metre radius of all examination centers. Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, wristwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, earphones, and pen drives, have been banned inside the venues.
Mr. Pandve also instructed staff to ensure proper seating arrangements and functional CCTV coverage.
Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar assured that adequate police security would be deployed around all centers.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education Sudeep informed that strict dress code rules would be enforced, along with a ban on shoes, water bottles, and food items. Measures such as QR-code scanning for candidate verification, installation of jammers, and three-member committees for transporting confidential materials have been put in place.
