DSC recruitment process in Andhra Pradesh was transparent, asserts Tourism Minister

Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on Saturday asserted that the DSC-2025 recruitment was done in a transparent and impartial manner. He strongly condemned the YSR Congress Party’s campaign against the recruitment proccess.

Addressing the media in Vijayawada, Mr. Durgesh said the government had fulfilled its promise to conduct the Mega DSC transparently. He alleged that the YSRCP had filed 335 petitions in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, with the intention of “preventing unemployed youth from securing jobs”.

Referring to the PIL filed by a YSRCP MLC, Mr. Durgesh said the High Court questioned the party’s intervention when no affected candidates had approached the court. “The High Court’s observation is a slap in the face of the YSRCP,” he said.

Mr. Durgesh said the first file the Chief Minister had signed after assuming office was the one pertaining to DSC, and the government filled all 16,347 posts in a record 148 days. The notification, merit lists, answer keys and grievance-redressal details were made available in the public domain, he said.

The Minister maintained that final selections were made not only based on merit rank but also in accordance with the candidates’ categories, availability of posts, roster system and horizontal reservations for women, persons with disabilities, sportspersons and ex-servicemen.

He defended the inclusion of bridge as a sport in the recruitment process, stating that it was recognised by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia. He accused YSRCP leaders of creating controversy without understanding the significance of the sport.

Mr. Durgesh accused the YSRCP of trying to undermine the efforts of thousands of unemployed candidates who had worked hard. He said people would teach the YSRCP a lesson if it continued making baseless allegations against the Mega DSC.
