Commuters alleged that auto drivers were demanding anywhere between Rs 50 and Rs 300, depending on the distance and destination.

For routes towards areas such as Palam, some passengers said they were being asked to pay Rs 250-300, considerably higher than what they would usually spend.

The disruption has also affected people travelling for medical needs.

Some commuters said they were taking sick children or family members to hospitals on bicycles because they could not afford the fares being demanded by auto drivers.

College students and office-goers have also reported delays as they wait for buses or search for cheaper alternatives.
