The Election Commission of India (ECI) has planned to conduct a special drive for the enrolment of left-out and young/first-time eligible electors under the process of continuous updation of electoral rolls in States and Union Territories where the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has already been completed.
According to a release from Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Archana Patnaik, the Declaration Form attached with Form 6 will be used during the SIR phase only. For the non-SIR period, the forms applicable under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, will be used. In this regard, a meeting with district-level officials was conducted on Thursday (October 1, 2026), and the special drive for enrolment will be taken up, the release added.
