EFF vindicated by court decision to grant Malema leave to appeal conviction - EWN

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) said it feels vindicated by the Eastern Cape High Court’s decision to grant its leader, Julius Malema, leave to appeal his criminal conviction.

Malema approached the High Court in January, shortly after the KuGompo Magistrates Court slapped him with a five-year prison sentence.

The court found that he endangered the lives of approximately 20,000 people attending a 2018 EFF rally in Mdantsane when he fired a rifle into the air.
