Electricity Prices Increased Again - ProPakistani

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity prices by Rs. 0.52 per unit under the quarterly adjustment mechanism. This is the 2nd consecutive rate hike in a week.

According to a notification issued by NEPRA, the increase has been approved under the second quarterly adjustment of the current fiscal year.

The additional increase will put an estimated burden of Rs. 12.67 billion on electricity consumers across Pakistan.

Consumers will pay an additional Rs. 0.52 per unit in their electricity bills for September, October, and November 2026.

The increase will apply to consumers across the country, including those served by K-Electric.

This is the second electricity price increase announced by NEPRA within a week. On September 4, the regulator had approved a Rs. 2.06 per unit increase under the monthly adjustment mechanism.
