In a major update, Tesla says its full self-driving technology is helping to prevent accidents while boosting demand for its vehicles, yielding record interest from customers.

Meanwhile, owners share stories of FSD’s automatic collision avoidance stepping in during everyday drivers involving pedestrians and handling close calls, thereby fostering trust over human driving.

Tesla’s Q3 2026 earnings signaled that product availability is falling short of accelerating market needs with FSD subscriptions up 67% to 1.74 million and over 75% of new North American deliveries including it. The active Robotaxi service is primarily hitting nearly 2 million autonomous miles in Austin with expansions ahead and wider use targeted for mid-2027.

According to Musk, demand for Tesla cars is growing much faster than production. He revealed that the company’s unfulfilled orders have expanded to levels not seen in four years.
