EWN's Alpha Ramushwana recognised with top accolades at National Press Club Awards - EWN
“The thing about journalism is that we are not in it for the fame, any form of recognition, or to be known. Once you let that get into your head, you lose the core values of journalism. I think being known is just a by-product,” said EWN politics journalist Alpha Ramushwana.
Those familiar with him know his trademark sign-off, “Aaalpha Ramushwana”, while TikTok users will recognise his signature line: “Tell me what you think in the comments section.”
The young and formidable journalist was recognised for his work at the 2025 National Press Club (NPC) Awards, where he walked away with two accolades at the Journalist of the Year Awards.
With two accolades under his belt in the Radio News and Radio Features/Investigative Journalism categories, Ramushwana said the achievement is an affirmation of all the effort he has invested in his passion.
“It's more of an affirmation of the work that I put in the hard work, the long hours, the constant travelling. I believe that journalism is a public service, and the awards affirm that as well. In everything that we do, we are serving the public. So, it's just a reminder that, at the end of the day, the hard work does pay off.”
