Ex-Broncos quarterback visits Bucs; Vikings host ex-Denver running back - Broncos Wire
A former Denver Broncos quarterback is getting a look from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Bucs brought in Brett Rypien for a visit on Tuesday, according to the NFL's transaction wire. Rypien, 30, originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State with the Broncos in 2019. He spent the first four years of his career in Denver, going 2-1 as a fill-in starter. Rypien has spent time with ten NFL clubs, and he could now provide more depth in Tampa Bay after the Bucs lost Baker Mayfield to a thumb injury.
Two other notable tryouts appeared on the NFL's transaction wire today: running back Audric Estime got a look from the Minnesota Vikings and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell worked out for the New Orleans Saints.
Estime, 23, was picked by the Broncos in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft out of Notre Dame. Since being cut by Denver in 2025, Estime has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Saints. He was cut from New Orleans' injured reserve list with a settlement last week.
Turner-Yell, 26, spent the first four years of his career with the Broncos after being picked in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft out of Oklahoma. He missed all of the 2024 season with a knee injury and then suffered another season-ending knee injury in his first appearance of the 2025 season. Now healthy again, DTY will attempt an NFL comeback.
Elsewhere on the ex-Bronco front, defensive lineman Jonathan Harris signed with the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad; long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer tried out for the Los Angeles Chargers; the Miami Dolphins cut long snapper Luke Basso from their practice squad and hosted outside linebacker Dasan McCullough for a tryout; the Dallas Cowboys placed safety P.J. Locke on injured reserve; defensive lineman P.J. Mustipher signed with the New York Giants' practice squad; wide receiver Phillip Dorsett signed with the Las Vegas Raiders' practice squad; and defenisve back Sam Webb had a tryout with the San Francisco 49ers.
