News24 confirmed that Johnson and Khan will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning.

The NPA did not disclose the exact charges against her and Khan, but they are understood to relate to a 2022 case of defeating the ends of justice opened against her over that 2018 email.

A colonel, known only as “Witness O”, testified at the Madlanga Commission that Johnson told her to delete the assault docket email (which was sent from her private Gmail address to the colonel’s Gmail address) once she had printed its contents and given them to Khan.

The subject line in the email sent from an “andrea johnson” Gmail address was “Phetle complaint”.
