Falconets W’Cup display shows bright future – Aduku

Falconets head coach Moses Aduku is focusing on the positives from Nigeria’s campaign at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup despite their 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Colombia on Sunday. Aduku believes the team made a strong statement at the tournament, building on Nigeria’s previous second-place finishes in 2010 and 2014, even though they fell short of reaching the semi-finals in Poland. The former youth international, who also coaches Nigeria Women’s Football League champions Edo Queens of Benin City, said the Falconets showed their quality with an impressive 3-0 round-of-16 win over England on Thursday before Colombia ended their campaign. Aduku noted that his team delivered a brilliant performance against England that could point to what to expect in the years to come. “This will be a great platform for the young players to develop and move to the next level.
