Family-friendly films are emerging as a key draw during this year's National Day holiday, with a lineup spanning animation, crime thrillers, comedy and socially themed dramas aimed at moviegoers across the generations. As of 8 p.m. local time on October 4, China's holiday box-office revenue for October 1 to 7 surpassed 700 million yuan, or over US$104.4 million, including presales, according toΒ ticketing platform Maoyan. Meanwhile, the country's total box office has surpassed 30 billion yuan (US$4.47 billion) so far in 2026, including presales.
