The ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (ICAR–NIANP), Bengaluru, in association with the Livestock Management Training Centre (LMTC), Sulthan Bathery, organised a farmer-scientist interaction programme at APCOS, Thariode, Wayanad, on Tuesday (September 15).

The programme was inaugurated by Sabin George, Registrar, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU). Speaking at the function, Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, NIANP, Bengaluru, highlighted the importance of scientific livestock management, balanced nutrition, and improved reproductive management for enhancing livestock productivity. He urged farmers to adopt NIANP technologies to achieve maximum productivity.

The programme brought together 73 dairy and livestock farmers and provided them an opportunity for direct interaction with scientists and experts on scientific dairy farming, optimal nutrition management, reproductive health, and sustainable livestock production.

As part of the livestock support initiative, ICAR-NIANP cattle feed, rubber mats, feed charts, and mineral mixture were distributed to the participating farmers. V. Jayesh, assistant director, LMTC, Sulthan Bathery; M.T. John, president, APCOS, Thariode; and R. Aji, district animal husbandry officer, spoke.
