The U.S. law enforcement agency is also adding Satinderjeet Singh, known as Goldy Brar, to its most wanted fugitive list.
"He joins the notorious Top 10 list because he is considered extremely violent and an enemy to the public," said Patrick Grandy, FBI assistant director in charge of the Los Angeles Field Office, during a news conference on Monday.
As part of a sweeping cross-border investigation into racketeering, extortion and murder by a trio of India-linked crime syndicates, U.S. prosecutors charged Brar in July in the killing of Nijjar. The Sikh separatist leader was shot dead three years ago by masked gunmen in the car park of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara.
Gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi has been imprisoned since 2015, but has continued leading the gang from behind bars. Brar has been described as the North American leader of the Bishnoi enterprise and remains on the run.
"Goldy Brar and his network have wreaked devastating havoc on countless lives — through high-profile murders, shootings, death threats, extortion, arson and drug trafficking,” said RCMP Deputy Commissioner Lisa Moreland.
The FBI said Brar is considered to be extremely violent, armed and dangerous. He is known to reside in California and various parts of Canada, said Grandy.
Canada listed the Bishnoi gang as a terrorist organization in 2025, accusing it of intimidating and targeting diaspora communities.
Anyone with information about Brar is asked to contact the FBI's tip line at 1-800-225-5324.
