The FIA has arrested a Nadra officer for allegedly receiving Rs120 million to restore cancelled CNICs of Afghan nationals, officials said.

The FIA's Counter-Terrorism Wing (CTW) arrested NADRA assistant director Aftab on charges of attempting to restore the cancelled identity cards of Afghan citizens in exchange for money.

According to the FIA, the suspect illegally restored the CNICs of 51 Afghan nationals. Following his arrest, the CTW also conducted a raid at the suspect's residence. The agency said it recovered Rs1.9 million in cash during the search.
