FIR actor Ishwar Thakur hospitalised for 9th time, family sells home for treatment

Actor Ishwar Thakur, known for his work in FIR and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, is currently battling severe health complications and has been admitted to hospital for the ninth time. His condition has reportedly deteriorated significantly, with his blood pressure dropping and him remaining unresponsive since yesterday. His family is now seeking urgent financial assistance to continue his treatment.

Ishwar, 54, has been battling health issues for several years. According to his sister Jayshree, it all began with a wound on his foot in 2020, around three months before the COVID-19 lockdown. Since Ishwar is diabetic, the wound did not heal properly and eventually developed into a serious infection. Over the years, his health has continued to worsen, with complications affecting multiple organs. He is diabetic, has kidney-related issues and his liver is also no longer functioning properly.

Speaking to India Today, Jayshree said the family has exhausted its financial resources while trying to keep her brother’s treatment going.

"Ishwar is my elder brother. His health problems started in 2020, about three months before the COVID lockdown, when he developed a wound on his foot. Because he is diabetic, the wound did not heal and the infection gradually spread. Since then, his health has only deteriorated. He has kidney problems and his liver is also not functioning properly. This is now his ninth hospital admission," Jayshree said.

She added that the family has reached a point where it is struggling to arrange even basic medical expenses. “We have spent whatever we had on his treatment. We even had to sell our house. My husband and I have been taking care of Ishwar, but now we have reached a stage where we simply do not know what to do next. I feel completely helpless. My mother is also a heart patient and completely dependent on us, she said.

According to Jayshree, Ishwar's condition became critical on Tuesday morning. His blood pressure dropped, and he has remained unresponsive since then. “I spoke to him yesterday, and he told me he wants to fight. We urgently need financial help because we don’t have the means to continue his treatment,” she said.

Jayshree also recalled how members of the television and entertainment industry had come forward to support Ishwar when news of his health problems first emerged during the COVID-19 period. However, she said the family is once again in desperate need of assistance.

The family is currently focused on arranging funds for Ishwar's ongoing treatment. Jayshree said Ishwar had continued to find ways to arrange medicines for their mother despite his own health struggles, but now she is running pillar to pillar alone to save her loved ones.
