The Fire Service and Civil Defence received the report at 5:36pm on Saturday after flames were spotted on the 23rd floor of a 26-storey building beside FR Tower, duty officer Rozina Akter said.
Two units have gone to the scene to bring the fire under control, she said.
The Fire Service could not immediately provide details on the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.
A blaze at FR Tower on Mar 28, 2019 killed 26 people and injured around 70 others.
