Fire Breaks Out at Teluk Intan Apartment in North Jakarta, 16 Fire Units Dispatched

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A fire broke out at the Teluk Intan Apartment in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Sunday evening (20/9/2026).

The Fire Department's Command Center received reports of the incident at 6:17 p.m. WIB from the public.

Firefighters from the Pejagalan post were immediately dispatched to the scene. They arrived at 6:29 p.m. WIB and began firefighting efforts one minute later.

According to data from the Command Center, firefighting operations are still ongoing.

A total of 16 fire trucks have been deployed to tackle the fire, an increase from the initial 12 units sent.

Similarly, the number of personnel on site has risen from 60 to 80 firefighters.

“The fire is currently being extinguished. We have deployed 16 units and 80 personnel,” the Fire Department’s Command Center said in a report when confirmed by Kompas.com on Sunday.

Kompas.com has requested a statement from North Jakarta Gulkarmat Duty Officer Gatot Sulaiman regarding the situation but has not yet received a response.
