First update drops about Prince George’s schoolmates at Eton - The News International

Weeks since entering Eton College as its newly inducted graduate, an update finally comes out from the new school for the future King of England, Prince George.

As for the source of this insight, it comes as a result of research by The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ). According to The Telegraph, there are a lot of changes in store for the future King at his new school.

The report claims “F Block” will be seeing tighter restrictions come into play. Fitted with “white lists” a “specially designed safe browser” and also “beaks” which are sites that recieve academic approval.

A letter was also obtained which included thoughts of parents whose children “game and gain access to the internet on their school-issued iPads” during lessons, and when homework is due, “unsupervised in their bedrooms”.

There are reports that many children are playing games and scrolling their machines right in the middle of class. Furthermore, the policy has also allowed the use of ‘brick’ Nokia phones since 2024.

In the eyes of some parents the policy that’s current in place is “currently failing the boys” and they have said, there is a “clear evidence of harm to a significant number of boys in the school’s care due to screen addiction”.

At the moment the demand is for the school to remove this open access and the letter explains it better in the following words, “The current situation with the school iPads represents a failing in the school’s duty of care and safeguarding for the boys. We believe the management of the school’s policy also reflects a failure of leadership, and we implore the school to make urgent changes to its policies before more vulnerable boys are damaged.”
