Flood disaster zones in Nonthaburi, more rain forecast - Bangkok Post

The order speeds up the release of special funding and equipment. 

Flooding was reported on Friday in parts of Pak Kret district, including tambons Pak Kret, Bang Phut, Bang Talat, Khlong Kluea and Ban Mai, as well as tambons Suan Yai, Bang Khen, Bang Kraso, Talat Khwan and Tha Sai in Muang district. It continued over the weekend.

Officials said persistent rainfall and high river levels caused water to overflow into residential areas, threatening public safety and damaging property.

The Meteorological Department warned on Sunday that heavy to very heavy rain would continue in many parts of the country, particularly the lower North, western Central Plains, the East and upper South.

Rainfall was expected to ease in Bangkok and nearby provinces to showers and isolated heavy downpours.

Forecasters said rain bands over Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon were expanding on Sunday afternoon and could intensify.

Residents were advised to remain vigilant because the rain could quickly return, even after conditions temporarily improve.
