The Vidyarangam Kala Sahithya Vedi conducted a folk song workshop for the students of Government L.P. School at Pang on Wednesday. It marked the district level inauguration of the Vedi’s activities.

Deputy Director of Education Sreeja Gopinath inaugurated the programme. Kuruva grama panchayat president P. Abdul Salam presided over the function.

Panchayat vice-president Sulaikha M., education standing committee chairman Abdul Azeez K.K., ward member Ummu Habeeba P. and Samagra Siksha Keralam district programme officer Mohammed Ali were among those who spoke.

Vidyarangam district coordinator V. Vinuraj introduced the programme.

Awards were presented to schools that performed well in the Reading Month activities. Prizes were also given to winners of the district-level photography competition held for teachers.

Headmaster M.T. Ali welcomed the gathering. Staff secretary Abdul Majeed P. proposed a vote of thanks.

Kathir folk song troupe from Karuvarakundu led the workshop and performance. Vinod Melattur, Syed Hashim K.V., Rajeesh Naduvath, Manoj Areekode, Bindu Pariyapurath and Phoolan Devi Nilambur led various activities.
