Four arrested for multiple theft cases in Tirupati; property worth ₹13.8 lakh recovered

The Tirupati police arrested four individuals involved in five theft cases reported across the district. At a media conference here on Friday (September 11, 2026), Additional Superintendents of Police Arla Srinivasulu (Administration) and K. Ravi Manoharachari (Law & Order) produced the four accused and also the recovered booty before the media.

The police arrested Gongati Mallikarjuna Reddy (38) of Jammalamadugu, and a tractor-cum-trolley was recovered from his possession. Upon investigation, he revealed that he had stolen the engine from another tractor, which was also recovered from him. The total value of the recovered items was estimated to be ₹10.5 lakh.

In another case, the accused identified as Dayanaboina Ravi (55) and Sivaratri Chandu (23), who were involved in several instances of stealing motorcycles parked on the roadside, were arrested, and two vehicles worth ₹1.9 lakh were recovered.

The police also arrested Koppali Geetha (25) of Giddalur, who was involved in a chain-snatching case involving a senior citizen. The accused was apprehended after the police tracked her movements with the help of technology. The chain, weighing 35 grams and estimated at ₹1.40 lakh, was also recovered.

Technology was extensively used to trace the accused in all the cases, leading to the recovery of property worth ₹13.8 lakh, Mr. Ravi Manoharachari added.
