Four elected unopposed to AJK LA

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission (AJK EC) has officially notified four members elected unopposed to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council.
According to a notification issued by the commission, the four members were declared elected on the basis of election results received from the respective Returning Officer.
The members are Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PML-N leader Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed and Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed and Pakistan Peoples Party PPP Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Chaudhry Latif Akbar and Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed belong to Muzaffarabad division , Mushtaq Ahmed Minhas to Bagh division, and Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed to Mirpur division.
The Election Commission formally published the names of the four elected members under Section 18 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council (Election) Act, 1976.
Copies of the notification have also been sent to the relevant authorities, the AJK Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Information Department and other concerned institutions.
Members of the Kashmir Council serve a five-year term and receive a monthly salary of Rs180000.
The four seats had fallen vacant following the expiry of the five-year terms of their previous occupants. The AJKEC had initially scheduled polling for October 12, but with four candidates filing nominations for four seats, the members were subsequently declared elected unopposed after the election process was completed.
The AJK Council is a constitutional body established under the Interim Constitution of 1974. It provides an institutional link between the governments of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir with its composition and functions defined by the constitutional framework.
