The Palarivattom police probing a series of complaints against a Kochi-based immigration services firm have registered one more case in connection with alleged cheating committed by its management.

The police on Saturday (September 26, 2026) registered the fresh case against Parvathy Maya Shaji, the founder and CEO of Amster Overseas, and two others based on a complaint lodged by a youth from Ponnani in Malappuram. The case was registered two days after Ms. Shaji was arrested in two similar cases registered earlier.

The latest case pertains to allegations that the company cheated the complainant of ₹1.48 lakh after promising a job in a warehouse in Poland. The alleged incident took place in 2023. Along with Ms. Shaji, Abhijith and Aju K. Mathew, manager and general manager of the company respectively, have also been named as accused in the case.

Ms. Shaji was, meanwhile, sent back to judicial custody on Saturday after the custody period granted for the police ended.

Police sources said no cases have been registered against the accused in other police stations yet.

“More people have been contacting us following news of Ms. Shaji’s arrest. Her company has started repaying the amounts received from many of them on promise of work visas. The payments are being made only because of the registration of the cases,” a police officer said.

Ms. Shaji was arrested by the Palarivattom police on Thursday (September 24, 2026) after she was detained on her arrival from abroad at Thiruvananthapuram.

The earlier cases against her pertain to complaints from two persons from Erumapetty in Thrissur district and Mamala in Ernakulam, who have alleged that they were cheated after being promised jobs in Armenia and Poland, respectively. A few others, including Ms. Shaji’s husband Aneesh Menon, have also been booked in the cases.
