According to TG SAFE, officials found houseflies, cockroaches, rodents and rat faeces at some establishments. Other violations included storage of expired food articles and spoiled vegetables, unhygienic kitchens, improper storage and labelling of food, poor drainage systems and inadequately cleaned utensils. Expired and contaminated food items were discarded on the spot.

Officials lifted 21 food samples on suspicion of adulteration. Improvement notices will be issued to five establishments, while six others will receive showcause notices and face further action for penalties, they added.

The nine establishments whose FSSAI licences have been suspended and which have been directed to stop operations immediately are Zyka Multi Cuisine Family Restaurant, The Malgudi Restaurant, Sri Vasudha Family Restaurant, New Udupi Krishna Bhavan, Lufyans Family Restaurant and Taj Family Dhaba in Kamareddy district. In Nizamabad, Rejuvenate Hotel (Mr. Pottel Meat Mate) Hotel Nikhil Sai International and Hotel Glamour got their FSSAI license suspended.

TG SAFE said the establishments issued improvement notices would be inspected again to verify compliance, while further action against those issued showcause notices would include proceedings for imposing penalties.
