Fully co-operating with probe: Mohammad Rizwan on PCB's leaks investigation
Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan said that he is fully co-operating with the investigation conducted by the nation's National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) over dressing room leaks during the England tour. Rizwan said he would publicly talk about the matter once the probe is done.
Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have reportedly been questioned by NCCIA in Lahore over an alleged leak of information from the team's dressing room during the Test series against England. The duo were questioned for close to four hours, according to PTI, after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approached the cybercrime agency with a complaint.
As part of the investigation, Pakistan's team security manager reportedly submitted Rizwan and Imam's mobile phones to the NCCIA for examination.
Speaking to Samaa TV, Rizwan said that he was waiting for the investigation to be completed before taking the next step.
โI am fully co-operating with the investigation,โ Rizwan said. โI am waiting for the investigation to be completed.โ
The investigation comes at a turbulent time for Pakistan cricket, which has been dealing with a series of disciplinary issues. Following the Lord's Test, seven players, including Rizwan and Imam, were recalled from England along with Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul.
The move was part of a wider disciplinary shake-up within the Pakistan setup, with the PCB taking action amid concerns over conduct during the England series.
Pakistan ended up losing the series 0-3 and suffered a major jolt to their World Test Championship hopes. Rizwan had a disappointing Test series in England, managing only 61 runs from his four innings across the opening two matches.
