Georgia high school football team wins with stunning ending as time expires - USA Today

A high school football game in east Georgia ended in dramatic fashion on Friday night, Sept. 11.

Down at Ware County High School in Waycross, Georgia, the Ware County Gators looked prepared to walk off a win and give the Richmond Hill Wildcats their first loss of the season as the Gators lined up for what would've been a 22-yard, game-winning field goal with just 2.3 seconds to play and the game knotted up at 7-7.

Instead, the chip-shot-of-a-kick was blocked as the Richmond Hill defensive line got a good push up front and overwhelmed Ware County's blockers.

The block kick ricocheted into the air, falling into the arms of Richmond Hill's Elias Grant, who proceeded to take it 95 yards the other direction for a miraculous, game-winning touchdown.

Grant, a Liberty football commit, raced down the Richmond Hill sideline, shedding a tackle at his own 40-yard line before continuing his trot to pay dirt, helping the Wildcats win 13-7.

With the unbelievable win in regulation, the Wildcats improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Gators fell to 1-2.
