General Motors is issuing two recalls for more than 80,000 vehicles.

General Motors is issuing two recalls for more than 80,000 vehicles.

The first is for more than 67,000 Cadillac and Blazer vehicles because a brake system control module defect may cause a loss of braking while driving, and another for more than 12,000 Chevy Express and GMC Savana vehicles because of a loose steering gear assembly nut, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall reports.

As of Oct. 29, GM was aware of 20 minor accidents, two of which had allegations of minor injuries for the Cadillac and Blazer vehicles, according to a recall report. GM estimates that all vehicles outlined in the recall are impacted by the defect. As of Oct. 8, GM was not aware of any injuries for the Express and Savana vehicles, according to a recall report. The manufacturer estimates that only 1% of the outlined vehicles are impacted by the loose nut.

Here's what to know about the two GM recalls.

The combined recalls include 80,095 vehicles.

For owners of the recalled Cadillac and Blazer vehicles, dealerships will update the brake system control module for free, according to a recall report. Vehicle owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-333-4223 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's recall number is N262570900.

For owners of the recalled Chevrolet Express and Savana vehicles, dealerships will inspect the serial number and replace the steering gear assembly, if necessary, according to a recall report. Vehicle owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267 or Chevrolet customer support at 1-800-222-1020. GM's recall number is N262579350.
