Go extends more assistance to Cebu residents
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go extended additional assistance to 308 people from various barangays in Cebu City on Wednesday where he cited the importance of continued trust and support of the Filipino people for him.
Go said that people who trust and support him inspire him to be a better and patient public servant.
Addressing the beneficiaries during the aid distribution activity at the Cebu City Sports Institute, Go thanked his supporters whom he said continue to motivate him to work harder.
“I will not lose hope as long as the public continues to support and trust me. I will continue to work hard and help the people, particularly the poor,” Go said.
Residents from the villages of Bulacao, Cogon Pardo, Inayawan, Kinasang-an, Labangon, Lahug, Mambaling, Pung-ol Sibugay, Pulangbato, Sambag Uno, Sambag Dos, Sudlon Dos, Tejero, Tisa and To-ong received meals, food packages, vitamins, sports equipment, shirts and bags.
In coordination with Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, Go facilitated the provision of housing assistance for families displaced in a recent fire.
The initiative seeks to help affected residents purchase construction materials and rebuild their damaged homes.
Acknowledging the hardships being experienced by fire victims, Go urged them to remain hopeful and use wisely the aid they received.
“Times are hard this days and I am asking you to put to good use whatever blessings you receive today. What matters is you are alive and let us thank God for that,” Go said.
He said public service means going beyond the confines of his office and personally reaching out to communities, especially during difficult times.
